patricia rotman Dr. Patricia Escudero Rotman is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (foreign license) with an American Ph.D. in Health and Human Services with a specialization in Psychology (doctoral dissertation about Panic Disorder). She also holds a New York License in Clinical Social Work. She has been in clinical practice for more than twenty (20) years. Her professional experience includes working in the Addiction Treatment Program at Mount Sinai Hospital (Miami); serving as the Director of several Anxiety Disorders Programs (both overseas and in the United States); working in an Emergency Room, in a Partial Hospitalization Program and in an inpatient psychiatric unit.    

Dr. Escudero Rotman is a Clinical Supervisor and Assistant Clinical Professor for the Department of Psychiatry at the School of Medicine in Mount Sinai Hospital (New York City). As such, she supervises the residents in psychiatry in Cognitive Behavioral Psychology and Schema Therapy (ST) as well as teaches a ST psychotherapy class to fourth year residents.  

Additionally, she has lectured extensively to the professional community at prestigious universities (e.g., New York University, Fordham University and Columbia University). She has also taught at psychological institutes (e.g. Training Institute for Mental Health), mental health clinics (e.g,. Pederson-Krag Center) and at the Association of Puerto Rican Social Workers (keynote speaker).

Her specialties include effective, time-limited, research based cognitive-behavioral therapies as well as Schema Therapy for long standing personality disorders. Her areas of clinical expertise include: Mood Disorders (e.g., Depression and Bipolar Disorders); Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders (e.g., PTSD, Acute Stress Disorder/ Recent Trauma; Adjustment Disorders); Anxiety Disorders (e.g., Social Anxiety Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder /chronic worry, Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Specific Phobias); Personality Disorders (e.g., Borderline PD, Avoidant PD); Couples Problems; Eating Disorders (e.g., Bulimia, Binge Disorder), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and OCD Related Disorders (e.g., Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Trichotilomania, Skin Picking, Nail Biting, Hoarding Disorder); Depersonalization/Derealization Disorder; Sleep-Wake Disorders and Attention Disorders (ADD/ADHD).

She is an active member of the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) as well as of the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) where she is certified at the Advanced Level. She is both a certified clinical trainer and a supervisor for this organization (ISST).
