Are you Anxious?

Can you relate to any of these symptoms?

• Chronic worry about “anything and everything”

• Social Anxiety related to:

a) participating in small groups
b) dealing with authority figures (e.g. bosses, professors, doctors)
c) meeting strangers
d) fear of public speaking

• Panic attacks (e.g. heart palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness)

• Avoidance of anxiety provoking situations (e.g. flying, driving, being alone)

• Traumatic events still affecting you today (e.g. losses, accidents, breakups, past sexual abuse)

• Unpleasant and intrusive thoughts, images or impulses (e.g. death, illnesses, jumping to subway tracks)

If you could relate to any of these examples, you may be suffering from an Anxiety Disorder. These conditions are highly treatable and can be overcome with a research-based treatment based on extensive research. I am referring to Cognitive Behavioral Psychology (CBT).

Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy is usually a short term process based on several interventions specialized in each Anxiety Disorder (Panic Disorder, Agoraphobia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder).

You will learn specific techniques and be given homework assignments that will make your progress faster. We will review your improvement periodically to make sure you are benefiting from therapy. I myself have overcome Panic Disorder using the same techniques you will be trained in during our work together.

It is normal not to be sure if you are ready, willing, and able to begin therapy now. I am available to answer all your questions and concerns about treatment. Please make sure you watch the television program included in this site to gain more knowledge about the topic as well as to hear to one of my patient’s testimonial about her condition and the therapeutic work she did with me.

Now, take the first step towards your recovery. I look forward to hearing from you.
